DIY Coffee Scrub: A Natural Way to Nourish Your Skin
Listen here, there is a saying I want you to ponder: If you wouldn’t put it in your body, should you put it on your body?
The journey to finding health in your life is full of sacrifice, twists and turns, and ups and downs. It took years for me to finally address my beauty products and the effects they had on my health.
Our skin is part of our immune system, it has its own unique microbiome AND is highly absorbable. You better believe what you put on it affects your internal terrain, your body, and your health. If you are using beauty products filled with chemicals, that burden is going to be passed on to your body. Your liver (the body’s biggest detox organ) is going to have to deal with these substances, leading to more demand on an already overtaxed organ.
So that’s a lot to say… you should consider transitioning to some more natural beauty products. And to help you along the journey, I’ve crafted a deliciously satisfying sugar scrub!
This sugar scrub is CLEAN and has a secret ingredient… Besan Flour.
Benefits of Besan Flour on Skin and Health
Besan flour, also known as gram flour, has been used for centuries in Ayurveda for its numerous skin benefits. It helps in:
- Exfoliating Dead Skin Cells: Besan flour gently removes dead skin cells, making your skin smooth and radiant.
- Brightening Skin Tone: Regular use can help in reducing tan and evening out skin tone.
- Controlling Oil Production: It helps in absorbing excess oil and keeping the skin free from acne and pimples.
- Detoxifying Properties: It helps in removing impurities and toxins from the skin.
This recipe has a lot of room for play! I have included ROUGH estimations of ingredients but highly, highly encourage you to make it your own. Play with it, test it, feel it, smell it, and craft the body scrub YOU want to use.
